Harvey Scott Sammons, Jr.

Harvey Scott Sammons, Jr., age 79 of Hendersonville, passed away on November 9, 2023 at his home.

Scott was born on December 14, 1943 in Atlanta, GA, to the late Harvey Scott Sammons, Sr. and the late Louise Stowe Sammons. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Sammons.

 He is survived his children, Chris Sammons (Karen), Cheryl LeMay (Scotty), John Fox (Nikki), and Jamie Corbin (John); 10 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren; siblings, Jake Sammons and Ruthie Sammons; two nieces and one nephew.

Scott was a great man. Not one that will make it into a history book, but he impacted many lives. Over the last few months, he saw a lot of people who came to spend time with him because they loved him. People from his boat dock, former coworkers, and friends from his church, all reminiscing over good times had with him.

He was also a strong man, beating cancer twice in the last 10 years. He was a kind man that didn’t know a stranger and would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. He could fix anything. He loved boating, his train room, Mustangs, and his family.

A celebration of Scott’s life will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2023 at 4:00 P.M. from the Chapel of Sumner Funeral & Cremation Lakeside in Hendersonville with Russell Irwin and Chad Eitner officiating. Visitation with the family will be on Tuesday from 1:00 P.M. until time of service.

Scott will be laid to rest on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at 2:30 P.M. EST at Corinth Memorial Gardens in Loganville, Georgia.
