George Scott Owens, III

George Scott Owens, III, age 56 of Goodlettsville, passed away October 29, 2023 surrounded by his family. Mr. Owens was born on December 18, 1966 in Tampa, Florida to the late George and Margaret Owen.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Karen Elizabeth Owen.

He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Cathy Owens; sister, Cynthia Ann Owen Lackey (Dave); children, Zachary Taylor Park (Sarah) and Talor Danielle Clark (Cody); grandchildren, Titus Clark, Kinsley Park, Griffin Park, Eden Clark, and Judah Park; and nephew, Matthew Lackey.

Known as both George and Scott to his family, he was born physically challenged and overcame doctor’s expectations and many health challenges throughout his life. Scott never let his illnesses or afflictions limit his passion for life; he was a true fighter through to the end of his life. He was an avid sportsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing baseball and golf; he had a competitive spirit and was determined to be the best that he could be. As a believer in Jesus, he is now enjoying his new life in Heaven and waiting for those yet to come.

A Celebration of Scott’s Life will be held at 12:00 P.M., Thursday, November 2, 2023 at Northfield Church in Gallatin. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
