Felicia Thornhill

Felicia Thornhill, age 74, of Kansas City passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023.  Felicia passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family.  Felicia was the daughter of Felix Gore and Elizabeth Gore (Hurrle).  She was born on January 30, 1949 in Kansas City, MO.  She attended High School at Ruskin High School and continued her education at Central Missouri State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in teaching.  After graduation she taught high school history for two years in the St. Louis area.  Later in her career she worked for Blue Cross and Blue Shield, where she retired.  

Felicia married Richard Alan Thornhill, Sr. on December 30, 1972 in Kansas City, MO.  Felicia and Richard had three children, Jennifer (Thornhill) Bracken, Brian Thornhill, and baby Thornhill who passed in childbirth.  Felicia was also a step-mother to Richard Thornhill, Jr. and David Thornhill.  She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.  Felicia loved to cook and travel with her husband and her family.  

Felicia is survived by her husband Richard; her daughter Jennifer and her husband Matthew Bracken and her granddaughters Harleigh and Gracyn, Hendersonville, TN; her daughter-in-law Tarrah Thornhill and her granddaughter Kyleigh of Nixa, MO; her stepson Richard Thornhill, Jr. and his wife Marie and her grandsons Tyler and James of Fontana, CA; her stepson David Thornhill and his wife Theresa and her granddaughter Elsa and grandson Spencer of Prairie Village, KS.  

She is preceded in death by her parents Felix and Elizabeth Gore, her son Brian Thornhill, and her grandson Kyle Thornhill.    

A graveside service will be held on November 22, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at Beech Cemetery in Hendersonville, TN.
