Evan Hooper Nichols, age 79 of Hendersonville, passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2016.
He was retired from Wyeth Laboratories after 39 years where he was a Territorial Manager. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was also an avid Vanderbilt sports fan.
Mr. Nichols is preceded in death by his parents, Hooper and Beaulah Nichols. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Anne Nichols; son, Steve (Melissa) Nichols; daughter, Julia Nichols Arvidson; grandchildren, Nikki (Kyle) Hargrove, Natalie Nichols, Jessica (Beau) Sallee and Emily Arvidson; great-grandchildren, Lily, Laura and Lydia Sallee and Abby Hargrove.
His family will receive friends from 4 p.m.until 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 30 at Austin and Bell Funeral Home in Hendersonville. Mr. Nichols Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 31 from the chapel of Austin and Bell Funeral Home. Services will be conducted by Dr. Ken Corr. Active pallbearers will be Glendon Fleming, Bobby Woodall,, Ken Robinson, Pete Boswell,Pat Keohane and Sam Slifka. Honorary pallbearer will be Wilton DePriest. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
