Elizabeth Lewis, age 101 of Hendersonville, went to her heavenly home on the evening of March 25, 2017. The last surviving of 10 children, Elizabeth was born on March 3, 1916, to Sara Elizabeth Corum and Edgar Weston Staley. Born in Nashville, she grew up in the Shackle Island Community. She has resided at Park Place Retirement Center in Hendersonville for the last 22 years, with the last 5 of those in Assisted Living. As a Christian, Elizabeth manifested a life of love and concern for her family and others. She last attended Berean Baptist Church of Scottsville, KY.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Jesse Lewis; her great-grandson, Lee Waller; 6 brothers and 3 sisters.
She is survived by her daughters, Martha (Dr. Carl) Frensley and Jane (Jerry) Musgrave; her son, Tommy (Vicki) Lewis; 9 Grandchildren; 19 Great-Grandchildren; and 4 Great-Great Grandchildren.
Her family will receive friends on Monday, March 27, from 4:00pm until 8:00pm and again on Tuesday, March 28, from 11:00am until her Celebration of Life Service at 2:00pm. Her son-in-law, Dr. Carl Frensley, will officiate. All services will be at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Hendersonville. Pallbearers will be Scott Musgrave, Lonny Musgrave, Larry Musgrave, Butch Waller, Bryce Waller, and James McCammack. Honorary Pallbearers are Houston Lee Waller and Frank Pollard.
