Douglas “Doug” Strickland, age 67 of Gallatin, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on June 14, 2023. Born in Topeka, Kansas on October 17, 1955, Doug was the son of Donald and June Strickland.
He proudly served in the United States Army as a radio operator with the 82nd Airborne in Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. Doug lived in the Tampa Bay area for over 20 years working in sales at Marcone Appliance Parts before moving and making his home in Gallatin, Tennessee.
In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by his brother, Donald Errol Strickland and his uncle, Johnny Strickland. He is survived by his children, Heather Strickland (Scott) of Hendersonville, TN, Danielle Strickland of Panama City Beach, FL, and Douglas Strickland of Gallatin, TN; grandchildren, Alexis Sepulveda (Chris) of Jacksonville, FL and Ryan Sepulveda of Panama City Beach, FL; great-granddaughter, Ava Slobozien of Jacksonville, FL; brother, David Strickland (Ingrid) of Tampa, FL; sister, Deborah Jollis (Steven) of Gowanda, NY; former wife, Maureen Carver (Michael) of Panama City Beach, FL; step-son, Matthew Demarest; nephews, Jeremy Strickland (Staci), Nathan Jolls Rebecca), and Jacob Jolls along with many great nieces and nephews.
Doug enjoyed listening to classic rock music, mowing his yard, grilling, spending time with family and friends and his three dogs. He was also an avid football and NASCAR fan, cheering on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Tennessee Titans and Jeff Gordon.
A graveside service with Military Honors will be held 10:00 A.M., Monday, July 17, 2023 at Nashville National Cemetery.
