Donna Maureen Marbach was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She left this world on November 21, 2021 at the age of 72.
She was born to William and Elfriede Marbach on December 9th, 1948. After graduating from Monterey High School – she studied Literature at the University of California in Santa Cruz. After she graduated college, she relocated to Philadelphia, PA to obtain a Master’s in Education at the University of Pennsylvania. There she met her husband, Joseph Brennan, of 32 years. After marriage, they moved to Rochester, NY. Together they raised five children: Brian, Erin, Shannon, Kevin, Colin.
Donna loved writing. She was a freelance teacher for Writers & Books for over a decade – teaching young children how to write poems and creative writing essays. She sponsored her own publication of collective poems and essays from fellow writers – “Pallets & Quills.” She also loved to paint. She had quite a collection of hand painted watercolors. Donna loved travelling aboard, she got the chance to travel to Ireland, Mexico, France. She even had the chance to live with her husband and children in Guadalajara, Jaslico for several years.
Donna was predeceased by her husband (Joe Brennan) and her parents (William & Elfriede Marbach). She is survived by her brother (Ralph Marbach), her sister (Anita Chamskas), her sons (Brian Brennan, Kevin Brennan, Colin Brennan), her daughters (Erin Neubauer & Shannon Brennan), and her grandchildren (Rorke Neubauer and Nash Neubauer).
Services will be held at Larkspur Conservation on November 28, 2021 at 12pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Writers & Books of Rochester, NY (
