Dennis Lee Daniels, age 70, of Gallatin, Tennessee passed away peacefully on January 28, 2023. He was born on February 23, 1952 in Nashville, Tennessee to the late Lester Earl and Frankie Nell Daniels.
Dennis was an incredible man who touched many lives with his kind heart and generous spirit. He had a tireless work ethic and worked hard at everything he did, and that included the 23 years he worked for Custom Recreation. He earned the nickname "The Mayor" from his family because he never met a stranger. He always got to know his neighbors, and would make fast friends wherever he went. His most amazing characteristics were his kind and generous heart. On several occasions, he gave money to people who did not have enough for Christmas. If you asked him for help, he was always there for you if possible.
Dennis had many hobbies and interests that he shared with his family. He was a huge Vanderbilt Football, Basketball, and Baseball fan and would take his three children – Kevin, Shannon , and Aimee Daniels – to games rain or shine, win or lose. He also loved keeping up with the weather - The Weather Channel was on 24 hours at the Daniels household especially when snow was in the forecast. It's like he turned into a kid again! He would have all the blinds open, and all the lights outside on - even waking up his kids to let them know it was snowing. Dennis also loved to take his kids fishing for blue gill, as it was a fun way to spend some time together catching (and releasing!) some fish.
He is survived by his three children Kevin (Stefani) Daniels, Shannon Daniels, and Aimee Daniels; his brother Ron (Francine) Daniels, his two sisters Libby Daniels Wiser, and Debra (Jim) White; as well as three grandchildren Samuel Daniels, Denver Abel, and Jake Sparks.
He is preceded in death by his beloved parents Lester Earl Daniels and Frankie Nell Daniels whom he will now be reunited with again in Heaven above.
A memorial service will be held in honor of Dennis at Long Hollow Church at 3:00 PM with a visitation beforehand from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM on February 18th 2023. In honor of Dennis's love of Vanderbilt sports, the family asks that those that would like to participate wear black and gold. All are welcome to attend. Dennis will forever be remembered as an wonderful man who was loved and cherished by many for his unique personality and kind and generous heart– may he rest peacefully in paradise.
