Dr. Deborah Weatherspoon age 66, passed away on October 21, 2022 at her home in Gallatin, Tennessee surrounded by close family. Deborah was the daughter of the late Joe and Dean Hardin. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Allen Weatherspoon; two sons, Christopher with wife Margaret Weatherspoon of Cadiz, KY and Robert with wife Angel Weatherspoon of Ft. Belvoir, VA; 4 granddaughters, Kristina , Alana, Alyssa, and Kaitlyn; 2 brothers, Gary and Bill Hardin of Clarksville, TN; and her mother-in-law Dorothy Weatherspoon of Centerville, TN; along with many loving nieces, nephews, and sisters and brothers-in-law.
Deborah was an accomplished professional nurse graduating from Memphis State University in 1978 with an associates degree in nursing with high honors. She continued her education with a diploma from Middle Tennessee School of Anesthesia in 1982 as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist. She later received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Cum Laude) from Excelsior College in 2005. Next a Master of Science in Nursing from Middle Tennessee State University in 2009. Her final achievement in her educational journey was a Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing conferred by the University of Tennessee in 2013.
Deborah enjoyed many activities with her husband and family. She was a world traveler, enjoying many different cultures and landscapes with her family, as well as close friends. In her down time, she was an avid reader, bread maker, as well as accomplished seamstress. Being a self-taught seamstress, she enjoyed showing her love through crafting special unique dresses, quilts, and other things for her family and friends. She especially enjoyed the time she shared passing on her love of life to her four beautiful granddaughters.
