David Ray Ferguson, Sr.

David Ray Ferguson, Sr., age 66 of Hendersonville, passed away peacefully July 29, 2023 at Alive Hospice in Nashville. David was born on May 11, 1957 in Jackson, Tennessee to the late Lemuel Ray Ferguson and the late Mary Lavelle Jones Ferguson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Gregory Ferguson.

David is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Darline Ferguson; children, David Ray Ferguson, Jr. and Dawn Marshall (Mitchell) all of Louisiana; grandchildren, Helana Ferguson, Briana, Aaliyah, Cayla, Elissa, Farron, and Graylynn Marshall; and brother, Bob Ferguson.

David was a member of Highland Chapel Union Church and was a good Christian man. He was an avid car enthusiast and owned many cars of various years, makes and models; over the years he has helped to organize cruise-ins and car shows where he would also DJ the music; he was raised in Hendersonville and was a graduate of Hendersonville High School Class of 1975. David would give you the shirt off his back and was always willing to help someone in need; he loved his wife dearly and always loved a chance to dote on his grandchildren that he loved very much.

Funeral Services will be conducted 1:00 P.M., Thursday, August 3, 2023 from the Chapel of Sumner Funeral & Cremation Lakeside with Pastor Jon Briggs officiating. Interment will follow in Beech Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Thursday from 12:00 P.M. until time of service.
