David Myers Brantley, II was born on February 9th, 1965 in Memphis Tennessee to David and Geny Brantley. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, September 1st at the age of 58.
David grew up in Nashville where he attended Father Ryan High School and Glencliff High School where he graduated in 1983. He married Janet England in 1996 and they welcomed their son Sawyer to the family in 1998.
Family has always been an important part of David's life. From working at Varallo Foods, to his decades long friendship with his cousin Mike, David has always valued his relationships with loved ones. He was especially proud of his son Sawyer and treasured the the trips, outings and travel they did together.
David was a people person and never met a stranger. He used his people skills most recently to create a successful career as a car salesman. Although David struggled with addiction and would be the first to tell you that he made many mistakes in his life, he had been sober for 3 years. His soberity was a testament to his willingness to acknowledge his problem, submit to God and be persistent in surrounding himself with a sober community through AA.
David was preceded in death by his mother, Marie Eugenia Varallo and his father, David Myers Brantley. He is survived by his son Sawyer Wyatt Brantley and former wife Janet. He is also survived by his sisters, Edie Brantley Dalton and Chelsea Brantley Nixon and brother Ernie Wright, brothers-in-law Benton Dalton, Luke Nixon and sister-in-law Dana Wright. There are numerous great aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews as well as friends who will miss him greatly.
