Courtney Lauren (Bobel) Nichols lived fully and loved whole heartedly for exactly 44 years. Her loyal and faithful husband, David, was by her side continuously, including during every illness and hospitalization she endured during their marriage of almost 16 years. Her two children, Hadleigh Jo (10) and Edison (8), were extremely fortunate to have had Courtney as their adoring mother. Parents Raymond and Gail Bobel, sister Raichon (Tom) and Sofia, and donor mother Melissa (Dan) Hair will miss her immeasurably. Among Courtney’s passions were Jesus, her family, and celebrating others. She was a lover of Chinese food (China Cottage and Fortune House) and was a sweet tea connoisseur. She was an unbelievable party planner and she loved creating memories. Courtney never met a stranger and she added to her list of thousands of friends regularly. The impact she had on others was astounding. Donor lungs gave her almost 13 wonderful years that cystic fibrosis tried to cut short.
Among those that welcomed her to Heaven include her Grandmar, Pop Pop, DDot, Granddaddy, Nanny, aunt Debbie Wakefield, uncle Freddie Bobel, cousin Jamie Wakefield, dear friends Burton Brown, Richard Suter, and Mallory Pinheiro, and lung donor Matthew Morvin. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a GoFundMe created to provide support for David and the children.
A Celebration of Courtney' s Life will be held on Friday, May 31, 2024 at 3:00 P.M. at Long Hollow Church in Hendersonville. Visitation with the family will be on Friday from 1:00 P.M. until time of service at the church.
