Christopher Lee Vernon

Christopher Lee Vernon, age 54, of Portland, Tennessee peacefully passed away on August 27, 2023. Christopher was born on December 5, 1968 in Chilhowie, Virginia to Arthur and Wanda Vernon.

Christopher is survived by his wife of 11 years, Denise Vernon; parents, Arthur & Wanda Vernon; daughter, Peyton (Steven) Wood; cousin, Cammie Vernon Brown; and his precious fur babies, Fuzz, Miss Kitty, Elvis, Mercury, Sammy, Wolfe, and Maddie.

Chris loved to have fun, history, old movies, and classic country music especially Keith Whitley. He loved working and spending time on his family’s farm in Virginia. He was sure to keep you smiling and laughing; Chris made friends everywhere he went.

A service honoring Christopher will be held at Sumner Funeral & Cremation Lakeside, Hendersonville on September 24, 2023 at 3:00PM. Visitation with the family will be held from 2:00PM until the time of the service at 3:00PM.
