Carol Hattaway Johnson Caldwell, age 80, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2020.
Carol was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who had an impact on everyone she met. She retired from Bank of America in Greenwood, SC after 38 years of service in many different roles. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hendersonville and former member of Trinity Baptist Church and Harris Baptist Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Ida Mae Hattaway; her husband of 57 years, Ray Johnson; a grandson, Alex Willingham; and 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
She is survived by her husband, David Caldwell; daughters, Kim (Rocky) Zazzaro of Cottontown, TN and Kay Willingham of Hodges, SC; 4 grandsons, Addam (Brandi) Willingham, Drew (Briana) Willingham, Patrick (Sheldyn) Zazzaro, Thomas Zazzaro, plus her adopted grandson Tim (Jamie) Thomas. She was blessed with two great-granddaughters, Collins and Emersyn-James.
Carol also had a stepdaughter, Gail (Allen) Blackburn and a stepson, David (Neoma) Caldwell, Jr. of Hendersonville, TN. She is also survived by her sister, Dorothy (Russ) Wimmer of Winston Salem, NC and a brother, Ralph (Cuba) Hattaway of Greensboro, NC; and several nieces and nephews.
In Greenwood, South Carolina, on Friday, June 26, her family will receive friends from 1pm until her Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 3pm at Harris Baptist Church.
In Hendersonville, her family will receive friends on Saturday, June 20, from 1:00pm until her Celebration of Life Memorial Service at 3:00pm at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Hendersonville.
