On July 7, 2022, Carla Pipper went home to be with Jesus after living a life dedicated to serving Him and her family.
Carla was born on June 16, 1936, to Johannes Hendrikus Ruchtie and Catharina Carolina Henriette Baumanns in Java, Indonesia. She had six siblings: Eugenie, Mary, Kiki, Herman, Willem and Hendrik. She was married to Henri Pipper on October 12, 1959.
Despite war disruption in formal education, Carla was self-taught through life experiences. She proved to all that you can do anything you want if you set your mind to it. Carla was a stay-at-home mom (and boy was she a good one) until 1990 when she started doing life as a single woman. She dabbled in retail some but quickly realized she needed to be with babies and children again. She nannied for much of the remainder of her life including caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Carla was a strong Christian woman who spoke often about the goodness of God. She instilled many lives with wisdom and the Word of God.
For fun you would find Carla at the beach (when she lived in California), shopping, eating out, spending time with family, and entertaining others.
Carla is survived by her children Elvira (Jeff) Gutzwiller, Katherine (Gregg) Gale, and Paul Pipper, eight grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. They invite you to join them for a memorial service at First Baptist Church Hendersonville on Sunday, July 31, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. for visitation and 3:00 p.m. for the memorial service with a reception to follow at the home of her daughter, Katherine Gale. If possible, please honor Carla's request that everyone wear white to her memorial service.
