Brenda Blakeman Marlar

Brenda Blakeman Marlar, age 75 of Madison, passed away unexpectedly on November 29, 2023 at her home. Brenda was born on October 1, 1948 in Alexandria, Virginia to the late Rocliffe Marvin Blakeman and the late Mary Elizabeth Kanigosky Blakeman.

She is survived by her son, Stan Marlar, Jr.; grandchildren, Hayden Marlar (Hannah), Hannah Marlar, Hope Marlar, and Haley Langston (Cody); 3 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Ann Rubright (David), Mindy Zabel (Don), and Rhonda Toombs; companion, Mike Thornton; many nieces, nephews and friends; and her faithful dog, “ixi.”

Brenda was very artistic and loved to paint anything from doors, to fences, or anything else she could get her hands on. She was an avid gardener and always looked forward to the beautiful things she would grow each season. Brenda was fiercely loyal; she loved her family and friends dearly and will be missed by many.

Family and friends will gather to celebrate Brenda’s life on Friday, December 8, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. from the Chapel of Sumner Funeral & Cremation Lakeside. Visitation with the family will be from 12:00 P.M. – 2:00 P.M.
