Billy F. Ussery, age 89 of Gallatin and formerly of Old Hickory, passed away December 31, 2021. Billy was born on November 4, 1932 in Old Hickory, Tennessee to the late Robert M. Ussery and the late Elsie Foster Ussery. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Joan Ussery in May, 2020; brother, Robert Ussery, Jr.; and sisters, Charles Bryant and Margaret Powers. Billy is survived by his daughters, Karen Whittle of Clarksville and Carolyn U. Campbell of Gallatin; grandchildren, Justin McCaig and Emily Whittle; great-grandsons, Patrick, Michael and Jake McCaig; sister-in-law, Nancy Edwards; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Graveside Service honoring Billy will be held 3:00 P.M., Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Hermitage Memorial Gardens with Bro. Don Loftis officiating where Billy will be laid to rest next to his loving wife. Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Sumner Funeral & Cremation Lakeside (formerly Austin & Bell Hendersonville). Mr. Ussery was a proud veteran of the United States Army, being discharged in 1952 after serving in Korea and later received a Purple Heart for being wounded in combat. He was a graduate of Dupont High School and David Lipscomb University; and was a lifetime member of Old Hickory Church of Christ.
