Billy Davis Pitt, age 91 of Hendersonville, TN passed away Sunday, October 31, 2021 in Gallatin. He was born August 24, 1930 to Harold Davis and Thelma Doris Pitt.
Mr. Pitt was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hendersonville and the Hendersonville Sertoma Club. He served as a City Commissioner in Hendersonville and was active in politics for many years. He was inducted into the ASA Hall of Fame in 2012, after coaching softball for many years. After his retirement, he enjoyed parking cars in Downtown Nashville.
Mr. Pitt was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of over 50 years, Beverly Guthrie Pitt; and son, Robert “Buddy” Pitt.
He is survived by his daughter, Malinda (Ruben) Molina; grandchildren, Robert (Melissa), Jordan (Erin), and Luca; and great-grandchildren, Tristin and Delilah.
A celebration of Mr. Pitt’s life will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 5, 2021 in the Chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Gaia officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home. This service will also be held in memory and in celebration of Mr. Pitt's son, Buddy.
The family would like to express their appreciation and heartfelt thanks to his caretaker and friend, Julie Yates, as well as his best friend, Earl Bass. They were by his side through good times and bad.
