Mr. Billy Joe Mundy

MUNDY, Billy Joe Sr., age 76 of Hendersonville, went home to be with the Lord October 11, 2016 surrounded by his family. He loved family, friends, always sharing his home, and giving to others without asking or wanting anything in return. He retired from the U.S. Postal Service and loved golfing, hunting and fishing. His kindness, sense of humor and laughter will be sadly missed by family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Taylor Mack and Martha Mundy; and brothers, Rex and James. He is survived by his wife of over 57 years, Diana Gourley Mundy; son, Joey (Christie) Mundy; daughter, Andrea (Dan) Huddleston; grandchildren, Justin (Leigh), Jacob (Leah), Jordan (Kayla), Rachel Meadows ( Daniel), Emily, Dan. Jr., and Sarah Huddleston; Great-grandchildren, Tucker Mundy, Reeves and Graham Parrish; sisters, Hazel Hinkle and Margaret Cammuse. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 14, from 5:00pm until 8:00pm and Saturday, October 15, from 10:00am until the funeral service 11:00am at Austin & Bell Funeral Home in Hendersonville with Bro. Vertis Butler officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dayrel Durham, Gene Gourley, Ron Gourley, Fred Qualls, Jim Williams, Horace Fly, Scottie Harris, Bob Dorris, Gene Young, Gary Burton, Robert Buck, Ron Maggart and Ken Hinkle. Active Pallbearers will include Justin, Jacob, and Jordan Mundy, Dan Huddleston Jr., Daniel Meadows, Graham Parrish, Eric Hinkle, and Dr. Scott Jordan. Interment will follow at Beech Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to High Point Hospice, 575 E. Bledsoe St.#9, Gallatin, TN 37066.
