Billy Gene Hall

Billy Gene Hall, age 88 of Portland, passed away January 11, 2024. Billy was born in the Fountain Head community on August 25, 1935. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Patricia Hall; mother, Lula Sullivan; stepsister, Shirley Coop; stepbrothers, Jimmy Sullivan and Paul Sullivan; brothers-in-law, Jerry Hobdy, Gary Summers and Don Austin; and longtime in-laws, David and Lillie Hobdy.  

He is survived by his children, Beth Richards and Mark Hall; grandsons, Jacob Hall (Lindsey), Zac Richards (Annie), and Trae Hall; great-grandchildren, Owen Hall, Liam Hall, Kaelyn Hall, and Chase Richards; stepsister, Irma S. Russell; sisters-in-law, Andrea Williams (Bobby), Cindy Summers, and Barbara Hobdy; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. 

Billy was a lifelong resident of Sumner County and proud of the place he called home. He was a longtime employee and retired from Dupont. At age 15, Billy joined the Portland Church of the Nazarene and was a member until his passing. 

A Celebration of Billy’s life will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 3:00 P.M. from the Portland Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Matt Taylor officiating. Visitation with the family will be on Saturday from 1:00 P.M. until time of service at the church.
