Betty Jeanne Kemp, age 86, passed away on February 1, 2020 at her home in Hendersonville, TN.
She was born on August 4, 1933 to Alta and Aubrey Earhart.
Jeanne married her longtime love, Charles Ray in 1953 who preceded her in death in 2003.
Jeanne and Charlie moved to Hendersonville in 1960 to live on the lake, which she loved. The Kemps were truly an integral part of the community. In 1976 she began her 40 year real estate career and managed to juggle that with being a Girl Scout troop leader and basketball coach.
Jeanne loved the arts. Between sewing her world class Halloween costumes for her kids and grandkids, she loved musical theatre, making ceramics, and cooking. Food was truly how she expressed love and her fried chicken and fudge cake are famous.
In addition to her beloved husband and parents, Jeanne is preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Dawn Kemp and brother, Aubrey Earhart Jr.
She is survived by her son, Charles Ray Jr.; daughter-in-law, Dana Jean Kemp; sister, Carolyn England; sister-in-law, Patricia McDermott; granddaughters, Payton Dale (Tobin), Kennedy Kemp, Cameron (James) Cloutier, Brittni (Joey) Coty, and great grandchildren, Kennedi, Reid, and Parker Coty.
