Aline Martin Durham, age 90, of Gallatin, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center, after a brief illness.
She was born on April 4, 1932, in Hartsville, Tennessee, to the late Frank Carter and the late Annie Carter.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughters, Anna Jean Mitchell Spencer, Carolyn Freeman, Lucy N. Mitchell, Erma N Mitchell; sons, Thomas Lee Mitchell Jr., Gabriel Lee Mitchell; grandchildren, Lacresha Mitchell, Lisa Ann Spencer; and multiple beloved siblings.
She leaves to cherish her memory, a loving and devoted husband, Mr. Carl Durham of Gallatin, TN; one son, Terry Wayne Mitchell of Gallatin; step-children, Ronnie Hardison of Gallatin, Kelvin Hardison of Madison, Mrs. Eris (Ronnie) Turner of Gallatin, Cherie (Chad) Christian of Westmoreland; grandchildren, Lora (Kelcey) Spencer, Toyette Spencer Anderson, Contina Spencer, Joseph (Tracy) Jefferson, Robert Black Freeman, Jr., Joseph (Lakendra) Freeman, Antonio Freeman, Gabbel Mitchell, Devonia (Milton) Young, Swann Mitchell; 21 great-grandchildren; 34 great-great-grandchildren, two great-great-great-grandchildren; one step-grandchild; three step-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Minnie (Jerry) Durham Miller; brothers-in-law, Mitchell Robertson, Charles Durham; one forever son-in-law, Nathaniel Spencer, Jr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 12:00 P.M. on Friday, January 13, 2023, at Zion Upper Room Apostolic Church, 365 North Blakemore Avenue, Gallatin, with Rev. J.D. Harris officiating. Burial to follow at Sadler Cemetery, Rock House Hollow Road, Westmoreland, with the grandsons to serve as pallbearers and the nieces to serve as flower girls. Visitation will be from 10:00 A.M until service time at the church.
